BONUSES, BENEFITS & BAILOUTS: THE MORALITY OF THE KING JAMES BIBLE

Friday 22 June - Saturday 22 September 2012

To tie in with the 350th anniversary of the Book of Common Prayer, All Hallows by the Tower is pleased to present a brand new exhibition tracing the origins and development of the Bible in the English language.

This display of artefacts and bibles through the centuries depicts the evolution of the Word of God in worship from the visual to the written. The exhibits include a changing collection of manuscripts, first edition Bibles and Prayer Books. These rare and important items are being loaned to us by the Museum of the Book in Limehouse (020 7987 9960), and we are very grateful for their collaboration in this project.

Open Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm; Saturday 10am-5 pm; Sunday 1-5pm (closed Bank holidays).
The exhibition will be launched as part of the Celebrate the City festival on Friday 22 June at 5.30pm.

All are welcome - admission is free but donations are invited.
